Transitions Academy

The Transitions Academy is designed to assist programs and their partnerships in developing, strengthening, and updating Bridge and ICAPS (Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System) programs by increasing awareness of the expanding partnership between Adult Education and Career and Technical Education as it relates to the IET/ICAPS models, Illinois Bridge programs, and Illinois Programs of Study. The Transitions Academy commences with a convening each fall and persists throughout the year with offerings such as virtual learning communities, mentoring, professional learning opportunities, and communication.

Spotlighting Access and Options for Success – November 2, 2022

The fall convening is designed to assist programs and their partnerships in developing, strengthening, and updating Bridge and ICAPS (Integrated Career and Academic Preparation System) programs and expanding the partnerships between Adult Education and Career and Technical Education as it relates to the IET/ICAPS models, Illinois Bridge programs, and Illinois Programs of Study. Transitions Academy: Cohort Convos for Success – in person

November 16, 2022 
9:30 AM – 3:00 PM

To support you in your planning, strengthening, and updating of ICAPS/IETs and to increase collaboration between partners, ICCB is offering Transitions Academy Cohort Convos. This will be an in-person structured meeting on November 16th  for you and your team to share and discuss topics, efforts, and initiatives that can best serve your students, teachers, and programs. Programs will apply as a team. Team members should include instructors, administrators, front-line staff, and support providers connected to your ICAPS/IET.


ICAPS Office Hours

Angela Gerberding from ICCB and the Southern Illinois Professional Development Center team will continue to hold office hours in FY23 for ICAPS program development questions, issues, or concerns. We meet on the last Monday of each month at 2:30 p.m. Please pop in if you have ICAPS development questions or want assistance developing your ICAPS! ICAPS Virtual Learning Communities 

Illinois ICAPS/IET Learning Community sessions provide programs the opportunity to share information, ask questions, and learn from one another. All ICCB IET grant recipients are required to be a part of the ICAPS/IET group. Learning communities are for participants to learn from each other and both AE and CTE/training partners should attend.

ICAPS Virtual Learning Communities take place on the second Thursday of each month at 2 PM. Register here for FY23.

Bridge Virtual Learning Community

Bridge Learning Community sessions provide programs with the opportunity to share information, ask questions, and learn from one another.

ICAPS Virtual Learning Communities take place on the third Thursday of each month at 2 PM. Register here for FY23.

  • February 16: Refugee Support and/or topics as requested by the field
  • March 23: Pre-session to IACEA – more information to come
